Justin Bieber apologizes for disrespecting Argentina flag onstage: I ‘thought it was a shirt, I'm sorry for my mistake’

Justin Bieber disrespected the Argentina flag by pushing it away with his mic stand.

Justin Bieber had another bad day.
The 19-year-old pop star sparked fan outrage in Argentina after he disrespected the country's flag while on stage during his concert.

Justin Bieber disrespected Argentina's flag on stage in Buenos Aires on Nov. 9.
A video surfaced Wednesday of his performance there on Nov. 9 (the same day he suffered from food poisoning) where the singer can be seen brushing two Argentine flags away with his shoes.
Bieber took to Twitter to apologize later that day and explain himself after the backlash.

Fans were outraged after Bieber kicked Argentina's flag when fans tossed them on stage.

"Heard about what is going on with me down in Argentina and I'm shocked. I love Argentina and have had some of the best shows of my tour there," he said to his close to 47 million followers.
"People throw stuff on my stage all show and I get it to the stage hands to get off so no one got hurt. That video I saw a bra and thought it was a shirt. I'm being told by my team it was a shirt but even if it was a flag I would never do anything to disrespect Argentina or the people of Argentina or the fans. I'm so sorry for anyone who took my actions the wrong way and I hope you can forgive this mistake."

Canadian singer Justin Bieber performs at Antonio Vespucio Liberti Stadium in Buenos Aires, Argentina's captial, this week.

"So once again to the people of Argentina, I'm sorry if that was taken the wrong way and I'm sorry for my mistake," he continued.
"I hope u can accept this. And I loved my time there performing for you and look forward to coming back. I gave my all and I know the fans did there too. Te amo. I would never do anything to disrespect my fans. I don't like having to defend myself but this time it was needed as I mean no disrespect."

Justin Bieber took to social media to say sorry to his fans and ask for their forgiveness after he disrespected their flag.

"So it is all love all around the world. Thanks, and to all the beliebers all around the world. I love you and thank you for always standing by me. Much Love to Everyone. Thanks," Bieber said at the end of his lengthy posts, making it very clear he was extremely apologetic for his mistake.
Insulting Argentina's flag is a crime punishable by up to four years in prison.
